80% Furnace Mandate

Did you know that as of May 1st, 2013 the Department of Energy is mandating the phase out of all new 80% furnaces in our geographical zone.  This means that all new furnaces for both replacement and new construction are required to be a minimum efficiency of 90% or greater.  If you are currently thinking about replacing your old, wornout furnace and you are not interested in upgrading to a 90% or higher furnace now is the time to start researching the different 80% furnace options.  There are certain cases, especially in retrofit applications, where installing a 90% furnace with the pvc flue pipes is a real obstacle.  Finished basements and other design parameters make it very difficult at times to route the PVC flue pipes to the outside of the house.  There is still plenty of time before the May 1st, 2013 deadline to get a new 80% furnace installed.  Call today and ask for Jeff Wegner.  He will be happy to assist you in a decision that best fits your needs.
